Camps and Classes in the Navy Zone are for beginners or for learners who would like to brush up on the foundational aspects of Computer Science and programming. Courses and Camps in the Navy Zone lay the foundation for more advanced courses, topics, and projects.

Emerald Zone

These camps are for students who have completed beginner level camps and are ready to start coding. Here students begin to explore different programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.). Using problem and project based approaches, project owners (facilitators who designed and coded projects) guide learners through a project from start to finish. There may be multiple projects in the Emerald Zone from several project owners, so don't feel the need to rush along too early.

Gray Blue Zone

Camps and Classes in this Zone are intended for learners with a couple of projects in their portfolios. In the Gray Blue Zone, project owners (facilitators who designed and coded projects) guide learners through more advanced topics and more complex projects. Project owners continue to utilize problem-solving approaches to projects, unplugged connections, and guided support.

Graphite Zone

In the Graphite Zone, learners are guided by project owners (facilitators who designed and coded projects) through conceptually challenging programming projects. In the Graphite Zone, learners might also explore challenging robotics problems, software/hardware dynamics, and more. The Graphite Zone is intended for learners who have a fair amount of skill and knowlege; learners here should have completed a variety of projects at other tiers.

Iced Mint Zone

The Camps in the Iced Mint Zone are for very advanced users. Some of these Camps and Classes may be customized. Learners in the Iced Mint Zone may be pursuing independent study project with support from Code Zone staff, working on pieces of large scale Code Zone projects, and much more.
