ALEX R. KAULFUSS, PH.D.![]() CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
|
Though I have spent my entire professional career in education, a fairly circuitous path led me to computer science and progamming. I began as a high school English Teacher, focusing primarily on survey and British Literature. After earning my Masters and Doctorate degrees, I accepted positions first with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and then at North Carolina State University's Friday Institute. Eventually, I found my way back to the classroom first as a teacher of Mathematics and then a Computer Science / Programming teacher.
I have long wanted to start an enrichment camp focused on new technological literacies and was thrilled when Dr. Lawrence Crosby was looking for a new adventure! I believe that no matter what your future endeavors are, having a strong foundation in computational thinking practices, problem solving, and creative solution development are critical for success.
When I'm not in the Zone, you might catch me playing poker or Magic: The Gathering. I try to write something daily, whether it's code, poetry, or brief bios for websites. |
